About me
As I began my writing journey, I devoted myself to sparking a flame of insight through my personal, academic, and career contributions. Along with my Bachelor of Arts in English, my minors in Creative and Technical Writing and Professional Design have afforded me different fields of writing and research that have consolidated my abilities to communicate effectively. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have acquired valuable skills in diverse fields such as UI and UX design and used my publications through poetry and university textbook curriculum to expand literature and professional writing into a more inclusive, diverse, and empathetic space. I am adamant about using my knowledge of English to redefine literature by implementing more inclusive and diverse narratives like my Arab culture and Islamic beliefs.

In November of 2021, I was hired as a Content Developer/Technical Writer for The University of Texas at Arlington. In this position, I worked closely with two highly accredited professors on the production of a university textbook. The premise of the content within the textbook was to highlight the need for inclusivity, diversity, and empathy within professional writing. My position allowed me the opportunity to hold round table talks, interview diverse members of the technical writing community, and analyze/produce user-centered content to understand and develop tactics to implement within our curriculum.
As an undergraduate student, I obtained a plethora of knowledge and experience that opened my eyes to the world of technical communications. One of the most rewarding moments within this position was traveling and presenting at the Symposium for Communicating Complex Information Conference at Old Dominion University in Virginia. As the only undergraduate there, I spoke about my involvement within the textbook and was introduced to an abundance of knowledge that widened my understanding of technical communications. The textbook is set to be published in the Spring of 2023. I cherish this experience tremendously and am grateful to be a contributor to a publication that will promote inclusive, diverse, and universal communication to future generations |
